Cusco to Lima for the midnight flight to the US
HOME
Up early again to catch the morning flight back to Lima.      After a final "culture shop" of many finger puppets, we have an uneventful flight back over the Andes one last time.
In Lima, we bivouacked in the hotel for FINAL SHOPPING and repacking.   Sublimes, alpaca, pisco, and stuff....and more luggage.
Our last supper was at La Rosa Nautica. A beautiful restaurant at the end of a pier.  Pacific waves crashed underneath us, but the party was rowdy enough to rise over the sound of the surf.  Toasts and roasting and even a birthday song for the table next to ours and for Pisco Pete, we tried to make sure that Ivonne would miss us.
A fine recap poem composed by Lynne (with the assistance of a few others) was ceremoniously read and enjoyed by all.
At 9:30 we were off to the airport, where we were AMAZED by the increable check-in line at American Airlines.  Good thing we had two hours to clear.
